Great Start: despite road construction

We’ve been open for 4 weekends now! Wow, how time flies.

It has been so much fun starting up this summer, the store is much bigger since I moved the drafting table and my production station over to the schoolhouse. The new layout feels really good, with the counter at the front.

Yesterday Kelly Wiltsie, an amazing beader and great person, set up a desert bush tree with her jewelry hanging off branches and it looks great. People can’t help themselves, and have to touch the pieces as they walk by. I had barely put one of her beaded glass jars down onto the counter and it was sold. Fret not, she’s making more, will have those next weekend.

I wish I had a great photo but didn’t think of taking one until it was shady enough outside that the light wasn’t that great. I’ll take one tomorrow and add to this post.

Father’s Day is today, so I get to rework the big table in the front where I have had a great selection of Father’s Day gifts on display. Some people have a hard time to know what to get their father, but I have had wide variety of great gifts for dad on display:

  • Snack bags, sandwich bags & lunch bags by Bag It
  • Cutlery rolls– with bamboo cutlery, great for picnic trips, camping & fishing trips! Also by Bag It
  • Flasks by Hair of the Dog
  • Fleece socks by Foxy Fleece
  • Flattened wine bottle cheese plate by the Melted Bottle
  • Cheese markers made out of old silver spoons & forks as well as knives by Mon Petit Chou Boutique
  • Candles by Cottage Garden Therapies
  • Garden markers in ceramics, as well as made out of old silver spoons by Say Your Piece and Mon Petit Chou Boutique
  • Colt 45 Lotion by Plunk Naturals
  • Fizzy Bath Salts by Blissology
  • Lip Balm by Whispering Willow and Bachman’s Sparrow
  • Cedar Grill Planks by Cedar Lattice
  • ….and a bunch of other great things.

Who ever said it was hard to find a good gift for dad?

Of course I also have had a variety of great Father’s Day cards from Wit & Whistle, Smock Papers, Doodlelove and Fine Day Press. And all have sold well this year.

Oh, and I sold my first Fox Parlor made sunhat. I have been looking at a bunch of different bucket hats, sun hats and other reversible hats, and come up with a great pattern, and I am having a lot of fun with matching fabrics.

OK, time for a lot of photos!

We’re still open Saturday & Sunday, 11 am –4 pm, but starting June 29 we’ll be open Fridays through Mondays. Come on by!
